Embodying Magic

A new client turned to me and said: When I was young, like really young, I used to walk around saying: I am mermaid. I am a fairy. I am magic. I felt like I was magic. She said with a twinkle in her eye. I could see that my client still embodied the attitude even now as an adult.

She also told me that she had a bed room full of angels and fairies. Her fouryear old once said to a mutual friend: My mom thinks she is a fairy.

Then one day my client went with her kids to the office Christmas party and her boss was dressed as Santa Clauss. The boss (dressed as Santa) warmly greeted my client. Her kids looked wide eyed at their mom. I told you I was magic she said while looking into her kids very large, wide opened eyes.

Today I taught a class on energy healing to a group of healers. One of the first things I said was to do this work you have to have a little “huzpa”. You have to take a leap and believe you have some magic in you. As you embody the attitude: I have magic in me. I am magic. Magical things start to happen. But it all begins with the new attitude first.

The class became an exercise in confidence, in embodying magic, in taking a leap of faith. When you are doing energy healing you are working with unseen forces and so to do this successfully there is a leap involved. And the leap starts with believing you have the power, with believing you are magic, with believing you have a gift. This belief allows you to take the first step forward and as you take this step forward you begin to get feedback from your environment reinforcing this idea. But it all begins with the change of attitude first.

I had to practice this principle myself when I first embarked on offering energy healing sessions. I was nervous when I first started (and still am some days). Can I do this? Do I know what I am doing? My client is paying good money for this session can I help her?

What can one do in a moment life this but take a leap of faith. I embodied: I am magic. I am powerful. I never work alone. I am powerful and powerful beings of light are all around me. I embodied the new attitude and I jumped.

My very first client came in with the usual concerns: Stress, sleep issues, not enough time and oh, she mentioned: My son hasn’t spoken to me in six months. It is one of the greatest pains of my life.

I embarked on the healing session and did the work I was trained to do. The session seemed to go well. No fireworks or anything, but soothing, relaxing.

And then 4 days later I got a text that said: Guess what, you will never believe this but when I got home there was a message from my son, he wants to talk to me. Something shifted during my session with you. I felt it. I felt a blockage release. Thank you so much.

And thus the journey began. Maybe I do have some magic in me. And maybe, just maybe: You have some magic in you too.

And so it is a practice. It is a practice of embodying a new attitude first and then seeing what shows up differently when we show up differently? What changes when we change? So often we wait for the world out there to change so that we can feel better. But what is life is mirroring back to us our most deeply held beliefs? What if life is responding to us? What would happen if we changed our attitude first and then watched to see what shows up differently when we show up differently? And so, this is the grand experiment with life. Change your attitude first and then see what shows up differently.

For today you may want to experiment with embodying the attitude: I am magic. I have magic in me. I am powerful and powerful beings of light are all around me. Have a little Hutzpa today and see what changes when you change.

And who knows you may find yourself talking to Santa Claus or some mystical being or some other magic may just show up in your life unexpectantly.

Have fun with this. Embody magic and see what unfolds. I’ll be practicing along with you.
